Work.. & Work

This summer has been quite the ride so far. P has been working so much overtime it's not even funny, I'm lucky if i get to see him for 4 hours a day. It really stinks. No, actually it sucks. I feel as if it makes it very hard for both of us to work on our relationship, because one little fight seems like the biggest deal now because we never see each other, and I know we both need to work on it. Life is way too short to think that small things are big things. Yesterday, I had a classmate pass away from suicide. 21 years old. 21 FREAKING years old. This world is just too hard for some people. So LOVE everyone, ya'll. Is it really that hard to smile at a stranger and tell them to have a good day, No I don't think so.
My work is so freaking awesome. You all should work at Java by the Bay, and I'm not kidding when I say that. I have the best bosses ever and I wish i could work there forever. I mean, c'mon, i get paid to drink coffee and talk to the coolest people in the world that seem to wander into our tiny little coffee house in L'Anse, MI. I wouldn't want it any other day.

Side note** I cannot believe my life got away from me and I haven't posted for a whole year?!?!?

DIY //

Okay, so yesterday I had this itch to make something.. I've been wanting to start doing a couple of projects for my dorm room come August, but I just haven't gotten to it, so yesterday was the day! I took my dogs down to the lake and collected a couple of pieces of drift wood and pondered what i was going to do with them for a while. While I thought on that, I remembered I had a couple of old picture frames that my aunt had given me when she moved. So I decided to paint those and found some really cute prints to go inside. I am soooo happy with the results!! I want my dorm to be cosy and whimsical with a lot of white, but pops of color, and these two projects turned out exactly how I had envisioned them!

I took just some regular scotch tape and painted in-between 2 pieces-- SUPER EASY--but CUTE!

This year my 4th will be a little different than usual!, but it's a good thing! My dad's cousin is getting married so I will be ringing in the celebrations with my amazing family! Congrats Dana!!:)

Summer starts now //

My summer actually started at the beginning of May, but I just finished my summer class that i've been taking for about a month now, and i can actually say my summer starts NOW! It's the best feeling knowing you don't have anything due at a certain time, or have to worry about gram-positive and negative bacteria...Ugh!! I am very glad i took this class over the summer, so now my load of classes during the fall semester isn't going to be as rigorous.

I am very upset to say that i haven't done much this summer so far..well, the weather has been horribly cold, and we have about one day a week that gets around 70.. no joke.. Don't move to Michigan. Well, I'm kidding.. sort of.. i love it here and its so beautiful sometimes i forget how great of a place it is, but this weather straight up STINKS.. I just want one whole week to be 80s. I don't care how humid it would be, i just want some heat, man..

Tomorrow I'm headed to Green Bay, WI. with some friends for the night. I'm thinking it will include some shopping, truck shopping (for a friend), and some good food, & laughs of course. I'm excited to get out of town for a little while, it will be nice and relaxing. I'm excited for July, seeing as i have many more plans than i have had, including a 4th of July Wedding!! I cannot wait, and will be for sure sharing pictures from then. Speaking of pictures, i've been horrible about only posting on IG and no where else.. i have to remember to upload to my computer, but i just get so busy sometimes i forget..oops..

Hope you are all experiencing the 80 degree weather I'm over here dreaming about...cheer's to new freckles and sweaty skin!

Polka Dots //

 I decided to put on these purple polka pants from American Eagle I had gotten last fall! I'm not really sure why I haven't worn them, because they're so cute and springy! Well, today was my last day of classes for the semester and I have 2 exams next week! It's crazy how fast time flies.. I'm excited to go home for the summer, but I'm going to miss all my friends I've met at school!

Summer, is that you?

Well, it's finally starting to look a little like summer out there... At least yesterday it did. Haha I guess that's what I get for living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. But, i'm not going to complain, it is so beautiful here, I seriously take for granted how amazing it is that I get to live in such an amazing place. Yesterday I went for a run along the shore and snapped this picture, can you say gorgeouuuussss?!

 

I am trying to slow down my life a little bit.. I've been realizing that life is way too short to be rushing every single day of my life.. My parent's friends little boy Brody passed away last week from a amazing fight against Glioblastoma, it breaks my heart for their whole family.. This also kind of helped me realize that even when I think I'm having a "bad" day.. things could be worse. I'm healthy, I get to go to college, my family is healthy.. that's all that matters. Remember that the next time you think you're day is "bad". My physiology teacher is also helping me come in tune with myself and our world. Through her amazing teaching, I am getting to not only learn about the amazing human body, and the wonderful things our tiny little bodies do every second/day, I am getting to learn great life lessons from this amazing woman. She has her PhD in Physiological sciences and her main focus was the effects on the brain from menopause. I plan on being an OB/GYN nurse, so this chapter learning about the female reproductive system has been very interesting to me and the fact that she has so much knowledge on this is very helpful! Our bodies are amazing! Don't forget to tell yourself that you are a beautiful human being..

I'm hoping to start posting more now that I will be done with school for the year.. crazy right!? This year flew by, I cant believe I will be applying to the nursing program in October! (fingers crossed I get in!!!!) I'm thinking about starting to do some outfit posts. I will probably only start out with 1 a week, but hey its something, right? Well, for all of you college kids like me, good luck with finals, and safe travels back home, or wherever you are headed for the summer!!
