My love-hate relationship

The past four years of high school I ran on my varsity cross country team. We ran so many miles a week that we couldn't even keep track. I was in the best shape of my life, and I LOVED it, but I also HATED it. I'm sure all of you who are runners understand this feeling, but anyways onto my point.

I haven't ran since cross country last August and it has felt so weird.. I just quit cold turkey, and that was probably one of the worst decisions I've made, because now here I am like an 80 year old woman trying to get back into that tip top shape....not so easy..but I've started, Yesterday I ran/walked and today I did the same. I'm going to take an easy approach because I want to LOVE running again. I'm not the type who is driven by competition. I'm driven to run for myself, and to accomplish goals for myself.

I'd love to hear your stories as well :)

Oh, and I'm going on a hot date with my man tonight ;)

Dorm room essentials: Part One

On Monday, my mom and I went shopping for my dorm room. I couldn't believe how many great deals we found at Target! I knew I wanted to stick with gray, but I wasn't sure what other colors to use. When I spotted this yellow pillow I knew yellow would be another, but it still seemed a little dull. I found the cutest turquoise metal bin that made my color scheme perfect! I couldn't find it online so it's not pictured :( but if you follow me on Instagram @allisonkoskinen I recently posted a picture of the shelf I started to try out decorating and the bin is there. I'm so glad I found everything! I still need to pick up a couple of loose things,but for the most part I got everything!

A few other things I picked up were:
Hangers
Towels (yellow and gray to match)
A gray shag rug
Toiletries

I still need to find some prints that I want to frame on the wall above my bed, if you know of any grat Etsy shops let me know :)
I can't wait to move in and show you all what it will look like! Stay tuned for the finished product ;)

Oh, Anthro..

I've seriously been dying over this Anthro jacket ever since I saw it on Naomi from "Love Taza". This is the most perfect coat I've ever seen, and go figure I'm too late to the party.. So if anyone knows of anyone/anywhere selling this adorable jacket please let me know!! Im dying to get my hands on one!

A day of nothing

I'd like to mark this one down in the books to be one of the most unproductive days of my life. It's one of those days where P is gone and won't be back until tomorrow, so I'm not going to worry about showering, or getting up off the couch. I've watched a ridiculous amount of prison break episodes..I. CAN'T. STOP.. seriously thought, Wentworth Miller..maybe that's why I can't seem to press that dirty little pause button. If you are unaware of who he is, I suggest you click your little Google search bar and type that gorgeous mans name in! I triple-dog-dare ya'!

So this post is extremely pointless, and on a side note it is about 45 degrees out, and it is July 27th..beat that. I bet you all wanna move to Michigan now dontcha' ;)

 

well, I'm off to watch another episode..

Morning Thoughts..

This morning as I sat outside on my deck drinking coffee and collecting my thoughts I thought of how lucky I really am. I am able to do whatever it is in this world that I want to do, whenever I want to do it. I am able to talk, walk, ride a bike, sit outside and not feel scared. Today is a day where I am so thankful for the rights we have as American citizens. I am thankful for this little town of 2,000 people that I live in, and knowing that when I go out people are genuinely nice. When I was younger I used to hate this small town, and thought there was nothing here..but as I've grown, I've started to realize that I don't ever want to move far away. This town is amazing and we take for granted being surrounded by the fresh Great Lakes. Not many people can walk from their house 10 minutes to fresh, clean water.
